AP 30 10. Surprisingly weighty on the first day. Advanced as could be expected for a 2009 but I would have guessed a Spatlese level. Very enjoyable on the first day, but tapered off surprisingly fast. The second day it was obvious this was tired and seemed past its prime.
If you have some, I'd advise drinking now.

Lots of floral and orchard fruit notes on the nose. Medium bodied, with almost a spatlese level of richness. There is some sweetness at first (perhaps a little bit more than is typical for a kabinett), but then the acidity comes in and nearly completely balances it. Green apple upfront, backed with pear and lime, just a hint of peach and some grapefruit/tart citrus on the finish. It’s a good balance between the orchard fruit flavors and the more green/lime based acidity notes. The strength of this wine is it manages to pull off wonderful richness and roundness while staying true to the kabinett style. The acidity through the middle and into the finish really makes this wine. Enjoyable for current drinking and while it should have 5+ years left, but I don’t see it improving significantly over that time.

A nicely restrained nose of flowers, orchard fruit, warm stones and a whiff of petrol. A palate of ripe grapefruit, citrus and almonds. Full and rich but not overly so. Rather good.

Quite sweet, low acid but full of lively fresh fruit, exciting.
