  • Medium to dark garnet colour. Cherry, forest notes, bacon, smoke and spice, with medium-level acidity, mostly resolved tannin and good length. A little woody, but smoothly texture and fairly balanced. Medium to full, with good concentration. Drink or hold.

  • There is probably quite a nice wine in there somewhere and once I pick all the splinters out of my tongue I might be able to tell you about it. Seriously, there is some pretty decent fruit here with substance, spice, cherries and strawberries. But woah, is there a lot of oak here. And the acidity and tannins are providing less structure, more onslaught (this coming from someone who basically considers high acid and tannin to be prerequisites for a good wine).
