Wow, this mature Aglianico is just lovely !! Perfect cork after over a decade and a half in the bottle, easily removed with the Durand. Consumed with friends at dinner with Italian food. This balanced wine softened with air and develops nicely. Inky dark purple color with little to no oxidation and good clarity. Aromas of rustic fig with savory flavors of bramble berries, black fruits, and white pepper accented with with gripping tannins and a medium to long finish. Great old vine fruit excellently made wine by Ted Seghesio. This age worthy wine has a few more years of life left. Fortunately, I still have two bottles remaining in my cellar and plan to visit again soon to validate this tasting note.

9 years on and the backbone of tannin and acidity remains. Combined with the subtle deep berry fruit this is a fine wine. Pity this is the last bottle as I suspect it has still a little room for improvement. Shame that Seghesio was subsumed into a conglomerate …… what would they be producing now if still independent?

this wine is tasting very well; big, dry fruit with a long finish; a hint of spice with tabacco & slight chocolate flavors; think it could cellar well for several more years, and right now, it's tasting just great,

Not a variety that I would buy again. Got this delivered in the wine club distribution.
