  • You know, the nose is consistent with what I would expect from a left-bank bordeaux of this age...this, I will give it credit for...The coffee/bottle sweetness/graphite/lead/slight vanilla/cassis I get is typical. The palate is exceptionally thin and uninteresting and the finish is short...I suspect the wine will age a while longer, but will never be very good...It's odd to taste a wine that is developing with interesting secondard characteristics - esp. on the nose - and still have such a lame back-end...DRINK UP, GIFT, or use as cooking wine...

  • This wine is great on the nose, but a little thin on the tounge, clearly not a new bottle. Some spice on the finish which adds to the wine...overall a nice but not great wine

  • Finally got around to opening one of these tonight. Deep ruby with no signs of bricking. Nose quite typical of bordeaux...cedar, forest, spice. The palate is dominated by smoked fruits and minerals. I do get the lead as well. Overall somewhat lighter than I expected, but quite good. Finish moderate with no hint of greeness that others have noted.

  • I hate corked wines!! The first bottle of this wine I opened tonight was badly corkly. I find it sad that many peoples (5-10%) experience with a new wine tastes that horrible. The second was so much better. The nose showed roasted fruit and lead pencil with an extra dose of minerality. The palate is medium weight with terrific balance and integration. The structure is there, but it is in step with the fruit. I find tastes of cranberries, smoke, and minerals. The only flaw I find is a slight hint of green on the finish. This is a terrific $18 bottle of wine.
