Brought to local wine shop and shared with the gang.
For a change, I didn't decant this at home for an hour (all my reds get that, and some whites), but it did get decanted at the store, and enjoyed over 2 hrs.
No notes taken.
I hate to put words in one's glass... but this gal was Delicious!
Impressive barely-bricking rim, moderate body, classic plum with some lovely coating red, black, and some blue fruits, and just enough eucalypt/mint nose to tell me she's probably from a cooler area.
Excellent finish length, of around 90 seconds.
Phemon by itself, and of course any low-tannic food works fine.
I WISH I had more. I suspect they don't make a lot of it (I think around 200 cases).
It even reminded me a bit of the excellent '02 Ossidiana from NAPA (black bottle with a raised arrowhead), and the '02 Lorenzo (a Chalk Hill rare creation, in honor of their Italian Grandfather - a black bottle with Amphora handles, and pic of gramps on the back).
Also more closely, a lighter version of the 1995 Woodward Canyon Merlot (all enjoyed last yr).
This one Really has me giving WA state Merlot another look (besides Cab Franc and Syrah).

Mine was drinking Great, and could easily go to 2017 without likely losing a thing.

Solid effort. Not as velvety as some merlots. Interestingly this wine improved and then went drifted back to it's original quality over the course of 5 days being open (with nothing but the cork put back in, thought it was put back in quickly after each pour). Big wine. Typical of WA wines, but again more cab-esque than merlot-y. Regardless the bottle was enjoyed and I'm happy to have had it. Balance could have been better and a little more beauty on the nose. Plenty of acid and tannins, though not unpleasent. Decant, and possibly hold as the fruit isn't fading yet and an perhaps over time the initial bump in quality will come sooner upon opening... 88-91 was the range over the course of drinking. PDQ90

Was a little bit past its prime. But very pleasantly drinkable.

Really should have opened this many moons ago...lost most of its flavor...just a bit remaining.

Solid wine with nice flavors. Still lots of fruit on the nose. Not as rounded in the mouth as I would have prefered.
