  • Beautifully clear, maroon amber color turning to copper. An open and very appealing nose of raisins, dried apricots, florals, light oak spice and aromatic maple syrup. The nose segues into the palate, though raisins take a more dominant role. Though pretty heavy on residual sugar and light on the acidic side, the wine doesn't seem that cloying, though the wine is pretty viscous and full-bodied in the mouth. However the alcohol (17,5%) seems to bring some lightness and clarity to the thick body, even though the aroma of alcohol is pretty evident both in the nose and in the palate. The finish is rather short and simple with brief, sweet notes of dried apricots and a touch of mouthwatering acidity. The wine is still pretty nicely balanced and enjoyable - though the wine requires to be cooled before being served. It is not that complex when contrasted against more serious dessert wines, but at 8,29€, this is an excellent purchase. Pair it with different fruit and chocolate desserts.
