  Outstanding. Like drinking silk. Double decanted approx 90 minutes before dinner. Everyone loved it. Mature barolo like this is a joy to drink.

  I know that this is the kindof wine that really does a lot better with additional air and yet somehow always forget that it should be one of the first wines decanted. This was starting to get a lot better towards the end.

  This is your pretty standard older barolo and maybe even drinking a bit older than you might think although at the same time it was a pnp for us and these wines usually need some time in a decanter to come around. It's got a bit of the iron ore and slightly metallic and fruit a touch more faded and somewhat floral. Not very detailed notes as this was a big afternoon, but a solid wine.

  Two years ago I said there was no rush to drink this bottle and I made a mistake. I was wrong. While still enjoyable, this has clearly seen its best day. Fruit is definitely more muted, tannins are totally resolved. Drink up.
