This wine was bought at the special shop at Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo in 2011, if I remember correctly. A stunning Cote du Rhone made with grapes from the youngest Cote Rotie The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like red currant, blackberry, plum, mineral, black pepper, violet, Herbes de Provence, fur and cool/menthol. It tastes like blackberry, red currant, fig, plum, mineral, mushroom, black pepper, violet, Herbes de Provence and fur. The body is medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Amazingly good for a basic Cote-du-Rhone. I have had two bottles, and will save the rest for another year or two because it will get better. Classic Syrah flavors of pepper and berries, still some tannin to resolve. Very nice.

Knockout purple color, knockout nose, flat-out delicious. In contrast to the 2008 version tried earlier this month (not noted), this is deep, wildly floral, presents uncompromisingly Syrah, sweet fruit character (without being at all over the top), with a solid mineral core, and could pass for Cote-Rotie.

Solid, good North Rhone, good fruit, firm tanhins, but nothing extraordinary-

Nice syrah, green notes (which I liked, but I can imagine aren't to everyone's taste).
