  Strawberry aroma. Pure cherry fruit flavors on the palate, with a nice bit of acid bite in the finish. Pure, simple, joyous - exactly what one looks for in a Nouveau. That said, $16 is a stiff tariff for a Nouveau, no matter how good, especially since there are fine basic Beaujolais from '09 (including the Chermette) available for the same or less.

  Fermented using the natural yeast on the grapes and bottled unfiltered, this Beaujolais Nouveau is made in the traditional style using gamay. Banana and red berry fruit on the nose. The palate is fresh, lively and smooth.
