No notes taken. Popped and poured. An interesting wine -- earth, mushroom, and dark red cherry. However, there is also an odd note that is very present on the attack that was described as either forest fire or cigarette ash. This never really blew off and marred an otherwise excellent wine.

Served with Roasted Butternut Squash soup. Thin orange/red color. Clean nose of red cherries with some earthiness. Tastes of slightly sour red cherries but has a nice mineraity. Light bodied. Good acidity keeps the wine lively without being distracting. Finishes with plenty of flavor and lingers nicely. This complimented the soup nicely.

Popped and poured. Light reddish orange color. Great nose with cherry, mushroom, and an enjoyable earthiness. The taste gives mainly sour cherry fruit and is a little tart. Good finish but shorter than it should be. Not a great match for the grilled rib-eye.

The color is a very pure cherry red right up to the rim. The nose shows a very enticing mushroom, black cherry, and a hint of earth. Initially on opening this tasted tart, but 7+ hours later the wine is very well balanced in the mouth. The taste is of black cherry and a hint of licorice. This is still very tannic. I suspect it has the necessary fruit to age well for a few more years. Overall a very nice, food-friendly wine.
