Elegant, with moderate fruit concentration, and tannins that were a complementary presence. Touch of acidity. Good with food and nice sipping. Popped and poured.

Popped, poured and followed over two night, little change from night to two. The nose is the most interesting component, pretty floral notes with hints of game and minerals. Richer dark and red fruits that are slightly more at the forefront, although there is ample acidity that almost balances the fruit. Tannins build through to the finish and show a slight tartness and some rusticity.

Whiffs of horse manure, limestone, raw mushrooms and herbaciousness over a darker cherry nose. Astringent, somewhat thin palate with obvious chalkiness and cherry fruit, but moderate pleasure. Ok in a slightly rustic way, but we're hard pressed to say it was worth the wait.

Popped and poured and left in glass about 25 minutes. Surprisingly fragrant nose of flowers, cherry, earth and perhaps a bit of gaminess. Flavors of high-toned red fruit, earth, and underbrush with a long mineral finish. nice persistence, structure, acid. Some oak but nicely integrated.

Opened and poured - no decanting. Very tight upon opening. Left the bottle open for an hour, and re-visited. Time was this wine's friend, as it kept improving with every passing minute. After it opened up, the nose is outstanding - a combination of floral, spicy red fruit, a little gaminess/meatiness and lots of complexity. Early on, the palate revealed a little oak, but that faded away with time, and the palate took on the characteristics of the nose. Bright, spicy, lively red fruit, balancing acidity, along with minerality and a meaty note in the background. Picked these up for $20 on Wine Commune - wish I had bought more.
