I believe this vineyard is on porphyry similar to Hermannshöhle, and while this does not have nearly the complexity of that vineyard's wines, there's certainly a family resemblance. The palate is kind of fat and plush for a Kabinett, but there's a sneaky acidity that's well integrated and helps the wine into a rich, lemon curd finish. A big Kabinett, but a good wine.

  Such a fun wine. 10 years young and just singing. Bonus points for QPR. Great Kabinett expression, zing, acid, fresh apple notes, playful. Nice bright golden color in the glass. Served with Indian food. Hexamer sells some of the hardest working $15 wine around. Big on the yum factor. Was happy to revisit this and sorry it was my last one.

This is a big Kabinett in a kind of overt style that's very fun but lacks some elegance. The extract in this should continue to allow it to age and develop, I don't know, indefinitely. Whoever in CT is holding the other 2 bottles of this, enjoy at your leisure!

  Dynamic, engaging Kabinett. Very fresh and bright. Opened with Indian food but this can go with just about anything as the sweetness was very much in check. Slight spritz, nice hint of petrol and a core of stone fruit. Delicious.
