Sangiovese, Sagrantino and Colorino. All steel - 12 months of it. Black cherry kool-aid, visually. Earthy aromas. I like the softer fruit style here; much lighter than the full-on Sagrantino, but still with some nice tannin. The 2006 was grippier (?), interested to see what later vintages produce. A solid producer from Montefalco - former manager of Colpetrone, I believe. Americans obsessed with big, lush and tannic wines should start to look to Umbria. More power for your dollar than Tuscany (which shares similar climate and terroir) as it remains fairly unknown.
Love that Sangiovese / sagrantino blend! Hey, at the price this is a hell of a great value. Bright clear raspberry color, lovely nose, and very smooth, old world kind of integration and restraint. Alcohol is spot on at 13.5 and the bottle I had, tannins were just fine. Terrific wine

Prefer the Sangrantino. But here in the same house style -- grippier tannins.

more beads than legs. nice nose and color. decent body - would probably stand up to food well. smooth, but tapers off somewhat quickly.
