B&L's Housewarming - Kabinetts and Bordeaux Blends (Brad's Place): I love the older Shirazes from Balgownie, so I was certainly not expecting something like that. It was drinkable, but not all that pleasant - lots of eucalyptus, green leafy notes, menthol and dark fruit tones on the nose. Again, clearly an Aussie effort. The palate showed some spice, cassis and plums, maybe a bit of chocolate. Simple, a bit of heat, some tannins - this was just somehow not coming together all that well. The Voyager Estate Merlot, coincidently just poured before this, showed a whole lot better in my book.

Quite harsh. Probably needs more time.
