Community Tasting Notes (2) Median Score: 84 points

  • This was a dark blackish red color. A big wine with very firm tannins. It had only been opened for about 20 minutes so some air time may do it some good. However, the black and red fruit was hidden and the finish was a bit disappointing. Cassis and spice notes were also present. This needs time but the stuffing is there. Not a masterpiece but when it comes around it will be outstanding. 92+ points based on potential (not nearly worth that now).

  • Tasted at the Vintage Wines, Ltd. wine bar. Bright disc. Deep purple/ruby with red rim. Clean nose, showing muted aromas of raspberry, brier, licorice and dust. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, medium sweet tannins and slightly hot alcohol. The flavors mirror the nose and become weak on the mid-palate. Short finish. A bit of time in the bottle will be necessary to (hopefully) fill in the middle.
