  • From one of the micro-batch (61 cases of this one) winemakers at the Cellar 205 co-op in Santa Barbara. More acidic and less alconol (13.2% abv) than other examples of local grenache; but still managing some intense flavor at this ripeness. Typical grenache fruity berry aromas. Medium-light body, slightly oily mouthfeel. Berry and citrus flavors, with a surpisingly sweet finish. More a food wine than a sipping wine; matched quite well with grilled lamb and eggplant. A good wine, but I don't know if the economics of small batch winemaking can be made to work. At the price of this wine, there are better alternatives. B.
