Dinners at Tiny Pine Bistro; 10/21/2023-10/22/2023 (Carbondale, CO): My first bottle of this showed substantially similar, but for the TCA. This bottle was clean. A brilliant iteration of this cuvée of which I admittedly have not always been a big proponent. But this has like zest, a dense mineral core, and plenty of stony minerality throughout. Nevertheless full and complete on the palate too.

Bought with signs of seepage, so impossible to say how representative this bottle is. Definite crud underneath the capsule and on the top of the cork, though fill was fine- there was some leakage but not much. Cork is the consistency of crumbly Play-Doh, though I somehow managed to get it out in one piece.
The wine is a deep golden with surprisingly thick tears. It smells oxidative, with that characteristic sherry smell covering up any nuances. Oxidative on the flavor as well, though not quite as much as on the nose. There is a subtle sweetness, yellow apples, ripe oranges, but that finish is like a glass of sherry (not in a good way). The wine is drinkable, and actually was a decent pairing with latkes and apple sauce, but nothing like what it is supposed to be. If blinded, I wouldn't be able to say much other than "old white wine".
I've had aged Trimbach CFE on one other occasion; the 1989 which I drank in 2019. That wine was spectacular, so this one probably is not typical.

Gorgeous aged riesling aromatics, lacked concentration and details however.

No formal note or score as this was consumed along with many other wines, but I wanted to note that the smell of this wine was nearly perfect.
