  Awesome Bordeaux, much better than I recall from a year ago. The nose on this wine is super filthy! Tons of Bordeaux stink and a great balanced mouth with soft integrated tannins.

  Château Gruaud-Larose, 2ème cru classé Saint Julien, Sarget de Gruaud-Larose 2000: The second wine of this legendary estate and yet a wine many wineries would be proud to have as their Grand Vin. Based primarily on Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine showcases a beautiful deep ruby color with a slightly brick hue. On the nose ripe bramble, cassis, wild mushrooms, smoky bbq meat, a hint of menthol and barnyard funk. Medium to full-bodied with an opulent and silky texture, this mature Bordeaux offers multiple layers of complexity with secondary and tertiary flavors of earthy mushrooms such as morels and black truffles with the ripe and juicy bramble and raspberry fruit taking a backstage. This wine still has medium acidity with silky and ripe tannins which highlight notes of bakers chocolate and cuban cigar smoke on the long, elegant and rich finish. This wine is a treat and a joy to drink. Drink within the next year or so. 12.5% Abv. 92-93
