  You can't but find the nose on this wine seductive: unmistakeable aromas of cherry, cassis, cedar and truffles - the perfume is instant, no decanting or aeration required. It's very silky on the palate, sweet almost, with fine-grained tannins. Up to that point - very good indeed. But it has a weak, flabby finish, where tannic backbone and firm acidity are barely present, lending a slight imbalance to the wine. This is a good value wine, with more virtues than faults, but falling just short of being really good.
