  • Something odd happened to this wine. It is full bodied, with plenty of GSM features, but it is frankly unpleasant to drink. I thought it would improve with age but it has not. 10 years on and really not nice. Sour and leaves a nasty aftertaste. (Based on experiences with three bottles). Weird- and i speak as a Languedoc fan.

  • at last another excellent bottle of this wine, great bottle variation so far.
Big intense nose, loaded with cassis and blueberry/ mineral fruit palate/ pure well made wine/ real pleasure.

  • Well made but slightly hot and flabby, although it is a very warm evening. Seemed ripe and simple compared to previous bottles.

  • DTC; Low budget wines plus some more expensive pirates. (@ SS): In the bouquet ripe red and dark berries and a lot of sweetness. On the palate a lot of very ripe red and dark berry fruits, good acidity and mild tannin. An attempt to make a blockbuster, but not one which is in very good harmony. Nevertheless nothing really wrong with it.

  • Opaque blackberry color with a bit translucency in the rim. Rich and heavily licorice-driven nose upon opening, drowning all the other aromas underneath; with some aeration the licorice is strongly present, but not without aroms of ripe, dark berries, herbal garrigue, spices, dusty earth, ink, some vanilla and a hint of vanilla. Very full-bodied and surprisingly balanced palate with good acidity and moderate tannins. Flavors of ripe, dark-skinned berries and plummy fruit, leather, licorice and some peppery spice, with only very modest oak influence. Occasionally the alcohol underlines the peppery bite with some sense of warmth. Medium-long and quite robust finish with strong spicy character, supple plummy fruit, some licorice and a hint of minerality.

Heavily licorice-driven red wine with lots of sunny dark fruit, but without any sweet, jammy, ponderous character. Lovely GSM-style red wine with good structure and richness. Perhaps a bit modern and polished, but only in a good way. Recommended and a good purchase at 17,95€.
