This bottle is fading. There just wasn't the acidity that I would have liked to have seen to support the fruit. Good fruit nonetheless. Almost a petrol like nose. Go figure... Been drinking up my older Kabinetts as I work my way through a number of curry dishes. Most of those are 2001's and 2002's. Seems to me that most of these were likely better a number of years ago, although I didn't try them back then. Next up will be similar Spatlese's that I suspect will have done better. All have been cellared since release at temp in the 50's and with appropriate humidity.

Wow. Nearly a teenager yet still as fresh a new vintage. No green tea evolution here at all though has been at 55 since purchase on release. Granny Smith, lime, and pear notes; sugar there but so gloriously bouyed by acids that it dances on the palate then leaves without a hint of syrupy residue.

Again, in a fantastic drinking window now. Green apple, peach, lime, minerals, acidity, well integrated. Simply delicious. And it paired beautifully with pork sausages.

Lovely bottle. I concur with the recent note about sweetness.

A bit sweeter than I expected, but it really improved over time.
