  • What a surprize it was to open and taste this bottle given the low ratings posted earlier. The cork slipped out easily and was in good condition and I was greeted by a wonderful aroma that continued through the last glass. The wine was obviously older since it had a brownish hue that could seen when it was poured but in the glass it remained ruby colored. The legs were fast. There was no sediment in the bottle. There was good acid and a touch of minerals. The fruit, black currant (cassis), was enhanced with a bit of flint. It smelled a bit like black currant (cassis). The body was light. The wine has polished texture and finishes medium.
Looking at the earlier ratings, it's clear that I was right in keeping it until now but I think it's at its prime so if you have any, start drinking it now. i wish I had a couple more bottles.
