13.5% ABV. PNP into Riedel Yoichi glass ("Flower" day): Medium ruby with garnet hues to the eyes.
Dark red and black fruits like organic wild cherries, plums. Smoky, dried florals, charred herbs and garrigue. Hint of olives and black tea leaves. Complex and well integrated.
Bright acidity, with lots of energy, flavor intensity, richness yet relatively light-footed. Suave and velvety tannins. Umami on the long persistent finish.
This is the best combination between power, complexity and drinkability. 'Wow' wine here. 95 points easy.

Reynard Dinner (Ada St.): This is a fantastic wine that suffered a bit tonight from the outdoor/warm setting and not enough time to focus on the bottle. It is stuffed with fruit and the nuances are emerging, but not quite fully on display so you have to look for those interesting meaty and spicy complexities. A big wine that has tons of runway and is still a few years from a peak stride.

Allemand Reynard survey (Chicago, IL): I think I liked this a little more than most others. This is a heart-on-its-sleeve bottle of Reynard. The fruit is juicy and pure, but so open and expressive right now. Texturally, this of course has that Allemand silkiness, and the tannins seem quite resolved already. Somewhat easy to drink, but despite the ripe vintage, also quite delicate on the palate.

90+ pts
