  • Well, I held my final bottle for 6 years based on the five priors and it was by far, the best. After an hour in decanter the parts acheived good harmony and though it never lost its rustic edge, the complexity I always hope for from Bordeaux was on fine display. Blueberry sweetness and raspberry grip on the tongue. It might seem silly to hold $12 bottles for 10 years, but sometimes that's what it takes for them to shine. This has plenty of life left. 5+11+16+7= 89

  • I agree with some others that it seemed a little disjointed, but it grew on me as it sipped more. Drank decanted, which I definitely recommend. (tried both before & after).

  • Just finished off the last of this bottle that has been open for over a month, sitting passively in the pantry as I would take an occasional taste every week or so. Guess what? The last glass was absolutely the best! I've never seen a wine hold up like this guy did and I think I 'll let that final bottle sleep for like, 10 years. If you have some, definitely hold.

  • Observations over 3 days. Nose still carries the baked cherry pie and mulling spices but was a bit clumsy until the 2nd day. Palate has average acidity and low tannins and was also disjointed the first day or so. It did smooth out and display some nice Bdx funk and earth but the flavors really resemble a plummy Gamay more than a Merlot or Claret. Fruity and simple and hard to say if it will improve with time, since there are definite seams throughout the tasting. Medium finish and as a daily quaff, it is a nice change from New World style oak and high alcohol. 5+9+14+7 = 85
