Lack of balance here. Strong nose of nuts and smoke. Even stronger taste of that, plus a metallic note that almost makes it undrinkable. I tasted other Jerez and and this one was either flawed or badly done.

Incredible lift on the nose, apple skin with a saline edge (I know you cannot smell salt but that’s what it’s like), nutty complexity; cool and fresh entry, lovely dry refreshment. Complex and delicious. A genuine fine wine bargain. Long.

Excellent with starters, acid and dry, balances strong taste of cheese and nuts perfectly. Also, very pleasant and round on the mouth by itself. Great surprise.

(NV Emilio Lustau Puerto Fino Sherry Solera Reserva, Jerez) Sherry continues to offer exceptional value as both a wonderful aperitif and an excellent match with all kinds of food, and this is one of my favorites. It is assertive, firm, and dry, with surprising weight and concentration for a Fino style. Despite its forward character, it retains the classical elegance that marks Lustau as a great producer. Hot Picks

(NV Lustau Puerto Fino Sherry) Crazy nutty, mint, orange zest, rubber, touch oxidized, seems like malo, creamy rich and does not have the acidity of the better styles of Sanlucar.

9/1/2022 - scorbett Likes this wine:
Saltiness, nuttiness, with rich/full leesy mouthfeel (or I guess "flor"-ey mouthfeel).
Perhaps some sour apple/quince in there somewhere, but this leans heavily to salty/savory.
I love it!

Nice smooth but nutty aromas, not so smooth on the palette and a rough-ish finish, decent enough Fino but there are better in the price bracket IMO
