Discovered a compromised cork - soaked all the way through, revealing some seepage. Been there, done that! As I like to say, "when the wine is good, it's good!" The seepage didn't hurt the wine a bit; perhaps it even accelerated the aging process ¯ \_(ツ)_/¯ ? This is a magical Pommard, boasting tons of complexity and enticing elegance. Magical and super lovely.

B30; G5; 4*+8.5*+4.5+8.5*+9+5+4.5=94+; Some bricking in the color and predominantly a medium maroon edge to edge. This wine is very aromatic and sometimes when the glass has been down for a while there is a waft of cherry and red berry that hits and tempts the glass back to your lips. The aromas also have an earthiness reflective of both the terroir and the age. Palate is firm but smooth with lots of integrated tannin and mouth-coating richness and juicy acidity. Flavors are lush with ripe red fruit and lovely earthiness and minerality. Finish is extremely long, smooth, satisfying, juicy - just wonderful. With maybe 30-45 minutes of time open and 5-10 minutes resting in glass this is delicious and ready to drink. Will likely cellar for several more years, but why wait as it is very enjoyable right now.

Opened late in a night, and not given it's due respects / opportunity to shine, but this was pure pleasure - still full of rich primary fruit, but tannins were supportive rather than obstructive and loads of interesting aromas / flavours just beginning to emerge. This was v.good+ and probably will get better...my last bottle, (damn!) will keep an eye on this producer...vintage speaks for itself, but IMHO 2005 premier crus are a lot of fun at the moment with space for improvement (wish I had more)

Two bottles over two nights, high on dark fruit and long summer-night fragrances. No bottle variation. Developing nicely. Excellent now. Good long term prospects

In great form, pleasant and intense nose. It is a full wine but somehow remains gentle and balanced, pleasing. Mature but with still a few more years
