  • Lots of elegance and finesse here, but this is still quite closed for me. Punchy red and black fruits - plums, wild cherries, strawberry. There are the extracted notes of prune, but not the sweetness. Real leathery note at the top middle palate with lots of dried herbes de provence, and a linear minerality beneath it all. Silky tannins and stylish acidity, though the finish is one dimensional at the moment, albeit lenghty and delicious. This needs a good hour in the decanter and a another few years in the cellar. Worked wonders with an Iberico Pork leg cooked medium.

  • Soft, elegant, not particularly concentrated, with fresh raspberry/redcurrant fruit. There is a slight element of dilution towards the finish, but this is a good example of relatively inexpensive burgundy. Most enjoyable, and drinking well now.
