What wine goes with Chinese food? Dinner (Phoenix Palace London): Many happy memories of this wine (although not this vintage). Very much as I remember, real line, clarity, and a certain savoury quality. Dark fruits and bramble. Goes ever so well with the food - better than I expected.

way better bottle than last time... not metallic or overly evolved... core of fruit there but not terribly complex and delineated... structural elements in balance... fine just not singing...

deeply colored... some bricking at the rim. aromatically dark fruits, oak spice, tertiary aromas of tea and mushroom. on the palate moderate acids, very full midpalte, resolved tannins on the backend, finishes with a flat metallic feel to it. balanced wine technically, ok length, good intensity, good complexity... this wine seemed past its prime to me and was a little dull. if you have these need to be drinking them.

Dark ruby color. Nose of licorice and earth. Still fairly tannic with a mid-level acidity. Nice dark cherry, cranberry, and blueberry on the front palate. Mid palate the fruit fades and a slight astringency emerges with a tannic finish. There are secondary flavors of licorice, cola, and slight tobacco. Just not in balance. This is in its drinking window. Not sure if it will improve with extended aging??

Lovely. Really at a very nice moment right now. Fresh, very pretty blackberry nose, very elegant in its weight, a nice balance of white with four flavours. Acidity, tannins, fruit.
