medium red, brick-orange rim - intriguing nose of black cherries, very strong herbacious notes, and earthiness - fruit much less obvious in the mouth, with tannins and acid predominating the palate but some traces of chocolate and expresso - short 5-10 sec finish - a very well made and interesting wine, but not sure I would guess this as a Ribera del Duero - very different from the Pesqueras that I am used to

first of all: big bottle variation (third bottle) what did go wrong? the cellaring or cheap cork??
how *... ever: big truffles on the nose, barnyard scent, horse dung, wet earth, forest, wet musty autumn leaves, balsamic and brute! some salt, very old school old world style, bordeaux-like, somehow terroir-driven, leathery, oaky... in the end you get the fruit (2 hours past) blackberries, kirsch liqueur...melted tannins and a very pleasing sweetness.
big bottle variation a wine for gamblers won't buy again! (although I got every bottle replaced...) it could have been a great wine!
p.s. if you are lucky and get a good bottle tannins and acidity should guarantee some years of cellaring...

the last of three bottles, lovely incense cedar and fruit on the nose, much more in the mouth cedar, tobacco, cassis, lovely rich fruit, great bottle , previous two botles so-so. long, luscious finish, terrific taste. would not buy again, too much bottle variation.

4th bottle...lovely...
enjoy through 3-4 hours...wine opens slowly but evolves!
special!
(big bottle variation)
P.S. with time dill comes through...dont wait too long, 1-2 hours decanting is enough. (5th bottle)
