  • medium red, brick-orange rim - intriguing nose of black cherries, very strong herbacious notes, and earthiness - fruit much less obvious in the mouth, with tannins and acid predominating the palate but some traces of chocolate and expresso - short 5-10 sec finish - a very well made and interesting wine, but not sure I would guess this as a Ribera del Duero - very different from the Pesqueras that I am used to

  • 4th bottle...lovely...

enjoy through 3-4 hours...wine opens slowly but evolves!
    special!

    (big bottle variation)

P.S. with time dill comes through...dont wait too long, 1-2 hours decanting is enough. (5th bottle)

  • first of all: big bottle variation (third bottle)
what did go wrong? the cellaring or cheap cork??

    how *... ever:
big truffles on the nose, barnyard scent, horse dung, wet earth, forest, wet musty autumn leaves, balsamic and brute!
some salt, very old school old world style, bordeaux-like, somehow terroir-driven, leathery, oaky...
in the end you get the fruit (2 hours past) blackberries, kirsch liqueur...melted tannins and a very pleasing sweetness.

    big bottle variation
    a wine for gamblers
won't buy again! (although I got every bottle replaced...)
it could have been a great wine!

p.s. if you are lucky and get a good bottle
tannins and acidity should guarantee some years of cellaring...

  • the last of three bottles, lovely incense cedar and fruit on the nose, much more in the mouth cedar, tobacco, cassis, lovely rich fruit, great bottle , previous two botles so-so. long, luscious finish, terrific taste. would not buy again, too much bottle variation.
