Though still young, quite drinkable and enjoyable already; the nose, very fragrant with apricots, honey, sugarcanes, tangerines, and white peaches; the palate, fruity and full-bodied, with lots of candied citrus fruits and bright minerals under the solid structure; the finish, lingering long with citrus fruits, licorice, and yellow berries; overall 91+ for now; will benefit from 3-5 more years of cellar time.

While there is a 'Burgundian quality,' as it were, I don't think I've really had a wine like this before... and I can't put my finger on everything that is going on. It is complex & nuanced. The nose, very enticing, is soft, peachy and evidently lee-sy. Full, lavish texture. More brash in the mouth than on the nose. There is loads of acidity; this does lend a touch of bitterness through the finish. While there is a lot going on, nothing is beating anything else down. Stone fruit, lemon, cream, spicy oak character. This is an even-handed yet complicated drink. I might see about getting more to see how this one evolves. Great!

Taste of Tasmania 10/11 (Hobart): {screwcap, A$33} Nuts & figs, stonefruits and minerals. Tidy wine. Same on the palate, along with a seasoning of lees & french oak. Nicely even palate. Good stuff at a slightly ambitious price.
