Aerated in decanter 1 hr, no sediment. Dark ruby, moderate fading to the rim, no sign of age. Reticent nose takes at least 30 minutes to open, more generous at the 90 minute mark. Fireplace, milk chocolate, blackberry juice, pencil lead, fresh cut fennel. The nose is complex and seems to shit every 10 minutes or so. Nearly full-bodied, the fruit is cool, balanced, very fresh. This gains serious weight by the one hour mark, the tannins seeming to come to life, acids slowly moving to the background. A very nice food wine, not so much on its own. Drink thru 2014, 14,5% abv, score: B/B+.
