Bright dark red; forward nose of dark red fruit and leather. Intense red fruit on the palate with nice mineral and leather notes and decent mid palate. Ready now and will keep for few years. Very enjoyable. Good value. (89)

Some Lower End 2009 Red Burgundies (The Wine Club, San Francisco): Medium ruby. Pungent game and earth. Expansive and fairly powerful in the mouth. Lots of sappy black fruit that is reined in by significant tannic grip at the end. Very Nuits and really good. Another impressive and typical village wine.

A bit more of an underwhelming '09 Burg, but only Village level. Dark in color, spicy nose, minerally taut fruit.. Some deeper darker notes.
