  • Delightful! Tannins present but resolved and kind- not the case five years ago when this was still too aggressive. Silky mouthfeel. Craisins on the attack with the right amount of sweet and acid notes to balance leading into the round-feeling mid palate notes of earthy clay, boysenberry which fade to drying dusty tannins and a final blackberry note (not as tangy as the mid-palate) and some oak tickling the sides of the tongue.

  • Impromptu dinner at home: Decanted 1 hour.
Plum, black berries, violets. Rich and concentrated lift on the medium to full palate. Tannins are supportive and integrating well. Delicious powerful mix of dark fruits, spice and seamless oak. No rush on this one.

  • Decanted for an hour. Terrific nose of black cherry, violets and spice. The wine is full bodied, ripe, concentrated but shows decent acidity. There is reasonable focus here into a long finish but there is also a little heat in the mid palate.

50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Smaak / Afdronk: 18 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 93/100

Colour: Deep ruby red with no trace of discolouration at the edge. Aroma / bouquet: Refined, ripe bouquet. Still full of dark fruit. Taste / Aftertaste: Beautiful, soft and 'polished' wine. Buttery soft, soft acidity, buttery and refined tannins. Mouth-filling and powerful but most brilliant and distinctive in elegance. General / potential: Optimally drinkable at the moment. Can still mature but doubt whether the wine will become much better and more pleasant in the near future. 50 + Colour: 5 + Aroma / Bouquet: 11 + Taste / Aftertaste: 18 + General / Potential: 9 = 93/100

  • Wow...outstanding wine. First time drinking bond and I’m going back. Decanted for 4 hours. Drank over the next 3 hours. But it was ready to go from the getgo. Went perfectly with Osso Bucco and mashed potatoes. What was most impressive was the elegance and nuanced character of this wine. It had all the making of great Cali cab but a totally different level of elegance and an uncanny ability to round out the power of Cab. Absolutely stunning.
