Declassified Soave Classico, only because it is bottled under screwcap, presumably to retain its freshness. Or is it because the winemaker is from New Zealand? Or both? Anyway, it's a very nice example of the Garganega grape. A cocktail of fruits and a lick of caramel on the nose. Fresh fruit salad palate, excellent acidity and some nuttiness. Bitter almonds through the length. Exceptional everyday drinking value.

Citrus fresh, very sharp with a bitter pithy finish, something I find to be a characteristic of proper Italian white wines. Fairly full on the palate, plenty of creaminess. Definitely one best enjoyed with food. Excellent value at the current offer price.

Wine Education Service - The Veneto (LSE): Light greenish gold. Lovely aromas, fruit and vegetation, inviting nose. Quite dry and acidic, rich and honeyed, bitter finish, good length.

Wine Education Service Veneto Tasting (LSE, London): Fairly deep gold. Looks oily. Quite intense aromas. Creamy stone and citrus fruit. A tad vegetal. Rich and mouthfilling. Quite tart and bitter through the length.

You can do far, far worse for an everyday white at just £5.99 a bottle. Stone fruit and minerals. Fresh acidity. Lovely summer drinker.
