Was feeling like a decent burg to go with dinner after the failure of the Jadot, and a recent experience of this was very positive. Somehow more rounded, less sharply focused wine, there is acidity and structure but also generosity on the palate. Very much enjoyed this with roast chicken.

Hawksmoor Dinner with out of town visitors (Hawksmoor Air Street): Properly getting into the zone now. All of the puppy fat has dropped, no clumsiness here, lovely structure. On the nose, dark fruits and a hint of lying face down in the heather. On the palate, good acidity, fruit is still there with a lovely gentle tannic spine for it all to hang off. Opened into a decanter and over the next 90 minutes or so it really unfurled. No rush but in a good place for sure.

Maroon red with crimson rim, showing a little age; nose is pretty, deeper red fruits, a touch of bruleed cherry, wilted roses, smoky mineral edge, touch of leather, resolved oak, still plenty of weight and fat on that palate and that kicking acid on the back, showing really great balance for this solar year; really good, thanks Steve!

Enjoyed with charred meats and great company. On the nose - just a hint of vanilla, some bramble. ON the palate - less coke float than the previous bottle, and a little more cherry stone and smoke. Perhaps not a blachian wine but definitely one for grown ups. Love this.

Black raspberry fruit, woody sting (reduction?) balancing nicely with low-med tannins, acid and…graphite? I don’t know, but I like it. 13.5% Alc.
Delicious: Tollot-beaut delivers yet another excellent Corton. WELL worth seeking out this producer.
