Drunk during my trip through Paso Robles heading ultimately for Stockton. Quite nice and reasonably priced. Dark, honeyed appearance with decent viscosity. Creamy, stony nose. Honey. Light on the palate yet good richness and presence in the mouth. Honeyed flavor. Nicely put-together wine. Fair bit of complexity. 4-12-15-8: 89/100.

The Le Bec Blanc is a gorgeous golden color. On the nose, I get ultra-ripe cantaloupe, peach, nectarine and sort of a salty minerality. Really nice nose.
Despite the nose being really sweet and ripe, on the palate this is very well-contained. The first taste is the minerality with a bit of a waxy character. Apple flavors come across nicely on the mid-palate, developing into a mouth-watering finish. The acid comes through nicely on the finish, making this wine quite refreshing, despite feeling more savory to me. The alcohol is perfectly hidden. Really, the only complaint/shortcoming I can find is that there's a bit of a watery character to this wine that shows up on the mid-palate and finish.

Santa Barbara Trip - July 2011; 7/1/2011-7/6/2011: Green apple & pear on the nose. On the palate there is honey dew melon, and a lot of pepper? Great acidity.
