Typically powerful Barossa shiraz. The good thing here is the overall balance, with firm tannins and savoury notes through the palate. It hangs together so well I think it has at least another 5 years, and probably more.

A well-made shiraz. Lovely ripe nose. Fig and dark fruits indeed. Somewhat tannic, but after an hour in the glass and vigorous swirling, it's quite nice [served by the glass, at Catalina Restaurant, Sydney]. Could be kept for a decade or more, should probably be kept for a minimum of another 3-4 years. 40-60 year old vines, spent 18 months in oak.

13 years and still boxing on. Rich and concentrated. Blackberry, plum, liquorice and chocolate. Quality plonk, no rush.

Has lost a lot of primary fruit and now struggling to carry the huge alcohol and heavy toasted oak. Better as a younger wine.

Only briefly tasted. First impression was that it was very powerful, with intense flavours of blackcurrant, smoked sausage, and red cherry jam.
