  • In our cellars for Holiday celebration. This bottle bought through friends who had been associated with the vintner...PnP, quick splash decant, drank over 45 minutes. Merlot driven wine..76 Merlot/26 Cab

Dark garnet color, no real signs of age. Nose showing dark fruits, cedar and earth. Palate of dark cherry, tobacco/cedar, chocolate (everyone picked this up...). Smooth texture, tannins resolved and sweetened.. Classic Alexander Valley, balanced and elegant. The plush Merlot texture really showing through. Medium/long finish with nice secondary notes.

Sadly, last bottle and I understand this wine is not longer being made. Too bad, it is a really well made and classic elegant CA wine at this point. My 06 Cabs from Napa have been a surprise to the upside, I dont have as many 06 from Sonoma but if this is representative its equally good...06 has been a sleeper vintage as these wines have aged. Would drink over next cuple years, I think this wine is in a perfect spot right now
