Tasted over two days. Translucent ruby red. Wildflowers and powerful red fruit on the nose. Intoxicating aromatics. Medium bodied with tart red fruit, great intensity and pitch perfect weight. This accentuated by some lively spicy notes and is just one of those wines that while young, one can really just sit and sip slowly and deliberately. The tannins are present, but silky and soft. Wonderfully complex wine with haunting length.
This is a discovery from University Wines in Seattle. They are new to me and a/la Scott Paul, they direct import Burgundy producers. This was the first time I'd ever heard of this one and it was the last bottle he had and was a strong recommendation. He certainly didn't steer me wrong and I'll be looking for more. I have no affiliation with the shop beyond being a happy customer.
