  One barrel produced from '08; this was shared by a friend and it was impressive. The color is still super dark and saturated to the rim; the nose is explosive and incredibly primary. Ripe cherry and raspberry, clove and cinnamon, violets and just a hint of fresh turned earth. The density on the palate is impressive with massive concentration and intensity, yet the wine doesn't feel heavy or big at all; an iron fist in a velvet glove type of feel. Incredibly impressive at 14 years old this seems like it will see its 40th year in fine form.
