  • Youthful black red in colour. Opens with smoke, cherry pits, tobacco and earth. The palate is fresh, sweet and sour cherry and with plenty of acidity and cut to balance the rustic and earthy flavours. Will give this some air but looking forward to this with bbq duck later tonight. I expect it will then be sweeter fruited but we will see. Later and it’s more of the same plus a crunchy pomegranate overlay to the Savigny earth. Good with duck but better with bbq beef. No rush to finish these.

  • Decanted over ½ hour.Interesting funky nose of pine and cooked cabbage.Medium bodied soft and smooth on the palate giving nicely mellowed, sweet fruit with this slightly atypical pineforrest flavor and a hint of vegetative notes.Good stuff.
