Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chicago, IL): Tasted double blind. Clearly Pinot Noir, but this seemed very ripe and slightly tired. Mature red cherry aromas and flavors with at least as much earth. Moderate weight and length. At first I didn't think it from Burgundy, and then thought it Villages level. Not nearly as interesting as the last bottle from a year ago (from the same source).

Maturing red cherry with baking spice. Ok, I might not hold this in the cellar for another decade expecting more nuance, but this wine is charming and showing great overall balance right now, with exactly what I expect from Echezeaux. Drink over the next 5 years. Very tasty right now.

Selection Becky Wasserman Tasting (Tribeca Grill - New York, NY): Tasting, brief note. Pale color. Nicely perfumed with moderate red cherry aromas. Red cherry and spice hints on palate. Approachable now with moderate density, this is a very well made 2007 Grand Cru that will most likely drink best on the young side.
