  • Medium ruby, minimal fading. Floral, brambly aromas. Medium weight, very good soil base. Marvelously tangy combination of black and red fruit, licorice, and spice. Fine grained tannins. One would be hard pressed to pick this out as a particularly ripe vintage wine. Concentrated for Chambolle but not burly. Outstanding bottle with at least 5 years of development ahead of it.

  • Sweet red fruits, star anise nose. Firm tannin, bright acidity and fruit on the palate, decent finish.

  • Medium bright red with perfect clarity. Very expressive violets, soil and cranberry aromatics. Medium weight, some flesh, very long with a more taut back end. Delicious blend of ripe but not sweet strawberry/raspberry and plum fruit backed up by precise acidity. It is not infanticide to try one of these now. Perhaps a shade more concentrated than usual for Chambolle, but really enjoyable refinement and focus for a 2009.

  • Opened one to see if I should buy the 2010 version. Nose starts off a bit closed but smelled like sweet pretty chambolle with air and as it warmed up. Palate has clean bright cherry fruit, bright acidity, and balanced tannins. You would never guess this is a 2009. Very elegant. I guess I will keep those 2010's.

  • Reticent nose at this point. Absolutely incredible palate here. Elegant with tremendous fruit presence. Long evolution from this point. Fabulous.
