I'm not so sure about this one. I thought I caught a pretty big hit of VA on this wine. I only had a tasting glass, was unable to get a big swirl, but I also caught it on the palate. I could be wrong, it could be their style to make a sharp edged, really spicy wine. Regardless whether it is a flaw, or a style, the wine suffered in the completeness department. Being unbalanced, the alcohol really stuck out. To me, the Australian wines need a strong mid palate, and some of those non fruit flavors to combat the high alcohol. The acid was affected also. The tannins were ripe and civilized. There is plenty of oak, possibly American, which may have affected my take on the spicy flavors. But still, with all the tasy Shiraz' at good deals, why?

Aromas of blackberry, blueberry and spices, dark berry fruits on the palate. The finish is long and framed by elegant, fine grained tannins. Effect from oakmaturation is very subtle.
