  • This bottle is just as good as the one 18 months ago but, alas, my last bottle. Delicious! I have nothing to add or subtract from my then TN. Excellent.

  • If anything this bottle is even better than the last some 5 years ago. Many commentators find notes of bacon and olives in the aromas of C-R; usually I have to search but this time they are very clear alongside griotte cherry and violets but perfectly integrated. These aromas follow through onto the medium++ bodied palate which shows pepper sprinkled tangy fruit, fine minerals, underlying roundness, silky texture, moreish acidity, good residual structure and length. More and more facets show right through to the heeltaps. Excellent.

  • Another lovely Côte Rôtie, my favourite N.Rhône appellation by a short head in front of Cornas. Colour still quite pristine red, nose expressive with complex bright aromas including cherry, violet, grilled meat and olive. Medium+ bodied suave, linear and long palate with plenty of bright fruit infused with the aromas from the nose, minerals, light pepper, lively acidity and a perfectly integrated oak ageing patina with enough residual tannins for firmness on the finish. The overall effect is harmonious and elegant with, I reckon, a few more years of prime still ahead. Excellent.

  • Soft red fruit on the nose. Smoky peppery palate with ageing yet still juicy red fruit characters. Wine is at the end of is drinking window but still very elegant. Would look to drink this up this year.

  • Ruby red with slight bricking around the edges. Red tart fruits, black olive tapenade, charcouterie and herbs make up an enticing nose. A medium bodied palate reveals sweet-tart small red fruits, tar, good acidity and a touch of wood spice in the background.
