This is my first Woodward Canyon chardonnay...I remember hearing that their style of wine was unique and tended to be more of an oxidized style. That being said, I am not sure about marking this as a flawed bottle. It was dark gold in color and oxidized. Nose had lots of butterscotch, creme brulee and vanilla, but the palate was far fresher. There was the butterscotch, caramel on the palate, but also an intriguing herb component. Not your traditional chardonnay in any sense of the word, but both Summer and I found it to be drinking well.
