  • Drinking great! Berries with a hint of earth and spice. Very good QPR - best bottle yet of this cuvee.

  • PnP - consumed over 3 nights. This is really drinking very nicely now - although it definitely wants some air time in the glass or decanter to come to room temp to show its stuff. This is a very savory, meaty wine with a lovely backbone of acid that just keeps it nice and fresh. This is actually the best of the 3 bottles we have consumed this year. Really enjoyable.

  • My last bottle of this. Opened y/day. Whether you like this style of ABV or not (12.1% listed), I can't argue that the diminished alcohol leaves me feeling better after finishing the last sip yesterday. I simply cannot drink the heavy ABVs any more and I do feel better physically when drinking these kinds of wines. That said about the ABV, what's the wine like? Y/day it took an hour for the fruit to fill in so keep that in mind in terms of aeration. Aromatics of pepper, smoke and game, with juicy red and black fruit, dark coffee, herbal/savory and buffered with decent acidity--this is not big pants CA syrah. As it warms to room temp (70f), the texture fattens more, yet all that savory and meaty qualities stay anchored to the fruit. This seems ready to go, for honoring the fruit, acid and savory elements all working well together right now.

  • Popped and poured served with meatball pizza on roof on warm summer night. Dark garnet in glass, a little funk on the nose that blows off quickly. Dark fruits and a bit of meaty notes on the back palate - good acidity.

  • Popped and poured.
Night 1 - Had one glass each to finish the evening. Sort of smoky notes on the nose, on the palate it was good - fruits more muted.
Night 2 (after two days in wine fridge) - more expressive tonight, great acidity with some milder tannins. Drank very nicely with food.

(Wind Gap Wines Syrah Sonoma Coast) Nice tart black fruit, blackberry nose; tight, tart black fruit, pepper palate, needs 3-plus years; long finish (100% whole cluster; crushed by foot )
