2008 is reputed to be a less successful year for Sauternes but I have enjoyed a number of Sauternes from 2008. They may not possess overwhelming concentration and complexity but they are easy-going really drinkable wines. The Cypres de Climens is no exception. There is not a lot of depth and length but the taste is really sauternes but in a lighter setting. Enjoyable.

Made with 100% Semillon. Medium golden colour. Tropical fruit notes: mango, guava, honey, touch of oak, butter, long finish, medium plus sweetness, but not cloying, medium acidity, medium plus body. The terroir of Barsac, red sand over limestone sure lends to more freshness.
