Lovely nose - bright, red-fruited, generous even. On the palate - that 08 sour core - enjoyable to drink for sure but confirms my prejudice that 08 Burgs are best left sleeping for now.

Pop and pour, notes from 2 hrs open. On the nose: black tea, pomegranate, bitter herbs, sandalwood, a touch of spice. On the palate: fantastic acidity, good density, more black tea, pomegranate, black currant, and intensely drying tannin. For my palate, this is at peak: the tannin seems destined to outlive the fruit. Fantastic now.

I enjoyed this and it's drinking beautifully, but the decant certainly helped. Took to an anniversary dinner and had it decanted upon arrival and while good immediately, it improved through the two hours at the restaurant. Goes without saying that earthy food improved the experience in my case smoked trout.

Decanted one hour, kept improving over three. Still quite youthful with delicate flavors of red fruit, dried herbs and leaves, slightly saline minerality, long finish. Enjoyable now but I think will improve with some more cellar time.

sour cherry, sappy and dense, though a bit monolithic. agree that I don't see this gaining much with additional age, and thus suggest drink anytime.
