Community Tasting Notes (28) Avg Score: 92.7 points

  • Color is starting to show its age but we were hopeful yet a bit surprised how good this was and ended up giving it the same score with similar notes as we did when last tasted in 2021. Raspberries in the nose with notes of herbalness and floral. Raspberries, cherries and plums in the flavor. Well balanced, nice acidity, complex, medium to full bodied, and a medium to long finish.

  • Tasted from WS cellar. This wine is just entering a wonderful drinking window with great freshness. The combination of fruit and savory flavors is just begging for the right food pairing. Anyone holding this bottle can feel very comfortable in knowing that whether you drink it now, or 5 years from now, it will be fabulous. Sampled from 750ml

  • Lovely mature cherry/cranberry fruit with good balancing acidity to keep it fresh. An ethereal texture leads to a fine, chiseled finish with notes of ferrous minerals and red spices. Fully mature now and it has aged very well.

  • Pop and pour. Tasted with food and then followed for serval hours; Tasted the following day after refrigerating the remaining 1/3 of the bottle.
    Dark ruby color.
Nose offers cherries, some fresh tobacco and brown spice.
Wonderful dark cherry flavors, with an umami rich mushroom component. Layers of flavor. Good acidity.
A wonderful package of wine with elegance and depth. As it evolves, the cherry notes lighten a bit from a dark cherry to a maraschino cherry with a little cherry liqueur on the nose as well.
    Delicious.
